Positive Feedback

Sometimes I wonder if I'm just sitting out here in the ether, doing work that I find fascinating but will never be seen by other human eyes. So it is very nice to curate the positive comments. It helps keep me going. I encourage you to do the same. Keep track, they don't come along that often.

Absolutely thrilled to be a "Shining light" of 21st Century bottle research. S. This was a reply to this blog post: https://sandiratch.blogspot.com/2022/04/the-oneill-machine-strange-mark-from-el.html

Twenty-two years after leaving Texas, I got this wonderful compliment from Richard Mahoney about the Fanthorp Inn project and the quartz crystals that I studied there. There is nothing more fulfilling than having something you spent so much time on being of use to someone else.

In doing my research on the BC Bantams, I was able to identify images for the Royal BC Museum. They had an album fully of BC Bantam photos and some that were loose. No one had identified them yet, and I provided the Museum with my spreadsheet identifying the ones I could and where they were taken. This is the comment I got back from one of the archivists I was dealing with, Don Bourdon.

I am honoured to have met Wayson Choy, the author of The Jade Peony, All That Matters, Paper Shadows, and Not Yet. I even got to help him with a little bit of research. This was his last email to me just 10 days before he left this world. I hope he is still keeping an eye on me.
